Phone codes in the world | What is important?
First of all, telephone country codes do not always consist of one digit with a plus at the beginning. 2-letter country codes as well as 3-letter country codes are the most common. Also it is possible to meet combination of four digits.
Secondly, if you have come across single ones in the list of country codes, we advise you to check additionally if there is another country code with the same beginning. For example, although +1 is a phone code in the United States (in the states and territories), it is also used as an official North American prefix, so it can be used in Canada and the Caribbean. The situation is the same with Russian and Kazakh numbers: both of them start with the digit +7.
How to check international phone codes
To check international country codes of the phone numbers which call you, you can simply do this:
- Activate the command Ctrl + F to start searching the table (for PC or laptop users);
- Use the browser search by your phone (open the browser menu in the upper right corner of the page and click on the “Find on page” button).
Next, you need to enter the first 2 or 3 digits (for example, +64, +886 or +352). If the search does not show any results, enter only one leading digit and check all search results.
If you are interested in country code for exact country, then in the same way you just need to enter its name (for example, Croatia, Japan, Columbia or Switzerland). There are more than 200 phone codes here including all European country codes.
